Hemal Patel, D.O.
Family Medicine
Dr. Hemal Patel hails from New Jersey but spent most of his formative years in West Virginia. He pursued a Biology major with honors at The Ohio State University and later ventured to Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, OH, for medical school. His journey continued as he completed his family medicine residency at Summa Health Systems in Akron, OH.
Following a persuasive nudge from his wife, who had pursued her master's training at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Patel relocated to the sun-soaked region of South Florida. He began his career at HCA Florida St. Lucie Medical Center, where he practiced primary care and supervised residents in the family medicine residency program on a part-time basis. His passion for teaching blossomed, leading him to become a core faculty member at St. Lucie Medical Center's family medicine residency program. Dr. Patel played a pivotal role in securing ACGME certification for the program, transforming it into the robust institution it is today. His primary focus was on instructing preventive care, emphasizing patients' health goals, and spearheading quality improvement initiatives.
During his leisure time, Dr. Patel finds fulfillment in volunteering at the local BAPS Hindu temple in Boynton Beach and has joined the volunteer force to help build the second largest Hindu Temple in the world, Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Jersey for a year. Weekends are reserved for paddleboarding, cycling, and embracing the great outdoors alongside his wife.

Dr. Patel is currently accepting new patients at his office located in Delray Beach, Florida.
